BELFAST - Caribou and Ellsworth have literally been chasing each other all over Maine's cross country trails this fall, and Saturday's Eastern Maine Class B regional championship at Troy Howard Middle School was no different. Led by junior Corey DeWitt's first-place finish, in 16 minutes, 32 seconds over 5,000 meters, the Ellsworth Eagles tucked four runners in the top 10 en route to a 48-67 victory over the runner- up Vikings. Six-foot-seven freshman Ben Bishop, thanks to his 3-1 record, 1.73 goals-against average, and .929 save percentage, has emerged as the No. 1 goalie and Lundin needed to show he was worthy of playing time.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -Kasey Spencer of Old Town scored an unassisted goal at the 98:54 mark in the second overtime period Sunday, lifting the University of Maine to a 1-0 college field hockey victory over Georgetown. Rebecca Giroux was forced to make only one save while facing eight shots for the 12-5 University of Maine.
