BANGOR - A complaint has been filed in U.S. District Court alleging that several Hancock County Jail officers assaulted an inmate shortly after his admittance in October 2006 and then altered records to cover up their misconduct.

Dale Thistle, a Newport attorney, filed the 17-page complaint this week demanding a jury trial for his client David Harriman of Blue Hill.
