BANGOR - Using a needle that would scare most people, representatives from the Penobscot Valley Kennel Club inserted microchips into dogs on Sunday that will give their location if the canines get lost or run away.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a 4-year-old black Scottish terrier, didn't make a sound when the microchip was inserted just under the skin in the back of his neck, between his little shoulder blades.
