Summary
In his review of "Half Nelson" (BDN, Feb. 2), Christopher Smith all but says that movie theaters in the Bangor area present mostly "drivel" movies. He is absolutely right! Among other releases that were favorably reviewed, "Notes on a Scandal," "The Dead Girl" and "Volver" have not brightened the screens in Bangor or Orono. Those of us who want to see these movies in a theater must go to either Reel Pizza Cinerama (Bar Harbor) or Railroad Square Cinemas (Waterville).
I wish that the cinemas in Bangor would adopt the pattern of the now defunct Movies 8 on Odlin Road. Every week it would show one high-quality (one that focused on things other than adolescent sex, talking animals, or serial killers) or foreign film.See the full content of this document
