Summary
President Bush has taken decisive action to protect our security since Sept. 11, 2001. The creation of the Homeland Security Department and passage of the Patriot Act are both testaments to the president as a leader and our nation's ability to implement the changes necessary to adjust to a post-Sept. 11 world were oceans no longer protect our borders.
The Patriot Act gave law enforcement officials new tools to fight terrorism; tools that were already being used to fight drug trafficking and organized crime.
