Summary
After reading the editorial, "On Daicey Pond" (BDN,June 30), I must ask if anyone from the Bangor Daily News editorial staff has been to Baxter State Park to view the cabins in question. If not, how can you say they should be preserved?
As a volunteer at Baxter State Park, I worked at the Daicey Pond cabins to make ready for the 2004 camping season. Cabins "Lookout" and "Outlet" are in disrepair. Trying to replace a few logs and windows will not make them camper-worthy. I would not want to hear someone has been hurt, as they would certainly hold the park staff accountable.See the full content of this document
