Carmel Terminates Contract with Trash Collector

Summary


CARMEL - Fed up with delays and other inconsistencies with trash pickup, town officials took their rubbish and recycling contract to the curb on Monday, ending it six months into a three-year pact.

The town is formally ending its relationship with M.D. Calcia Co. of Sorrento on June 30. Meanwhile, the bid process will begin all over again, town officials said Tuesday, one day after Carmel selectmen voted 3-0 to end the trash contract.
