NORTHPORT - An attempt to fire Harbor Master Mike Brown for insubordination didn't attract enough votes to float, but the veteran seaman has been put on notice to either shape up or ship out.
The Select Board met with Brown on Wednesday over his refusal to allow fisherman Richard Taylor pay fines owed the town on a payment schedule rather than in a lump sum. In April, Superior Court Justice Nancy Mills fined Taylor $8,067 for failing to pay two $20 mooring fees in 2005.See the full content of this document
