ELLSWORTH - Maine Coast Memorial Hospital has earned the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval by demonstrating compliance with the Joint Commission's national standards for health care quality and safety. The commission's unannounced on-site hospital accreditation survey of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital resulted in the hospital receiving no requirements for improvement.
"When you hear the Joint Commission is here to evaluate the hospital there is a lot of anxiety. You are unsure what the evaluators will ask or what they are looking for," nurse Tiffany Benner said. "Then you get busy providing patient care and forget the commission members are here. There is a great sense of pride that comes with knowing we are just good at our jobs and we do not have to do anything differently to prove it."See the full content of this document
