Summary


ELLSWORTH - City officials are seeking to create an ordinance that would restrict the location and capacity of any future proposed methadone clinics.

The Ellsworth Planning Board voted Wednesday night to establish a new section in the city's land use ordinance with stipulations that opioid treatment facilities must be approved conditionally by the board. The restrictions also would require that any clinic be part of a hospital's main campus instead of a mobile unit, and be restricted to a maximum of 30 patients.
