BELFAST - Those looking forward to taking a walk across the Passagassawaukeag River on the city's new footbridge are going to have to wait until next year.

City Manager Terry St. Peter confirmed this week that the earliest the city can expect to complete work on the 1,000-foot- long replacement span would be fall 2005. The city has budgeted $3.5 million for the project.
