Forklift Falls, Injures Two at Hermon Work Site

HERMON - Two men were injured around 2 p.m. Friday at the Nortrax Equipment Co. when the forklift they were working on fell, striking them both in the head.

Ronald Caron, 44, of Glenburn and Paul Schenck, 34, hometown unknown, were repairing a forklift that was hoisted several inches off the ground, when the forklift used to raise it slipped, said Sgt. Michael Burgess of the Penobscot Sheriff's Department. When the front end of the forklift being repaired fell to the ground, the forks hit both men in the head, he said.
