GLENBURN - Authorities say a Glenburn man acted appropriately when he received a suspicious check in the mail and rather than cashing it, did some investigating himself.

The man was selling an older-model Mercedes on the Internet for $2,000 when he was contacted by a buyer claiming to be from Belgium who wanted to buy the car and have someone pick it up for him. A short time later, a check for $5,700 arrived with a Texas credit union name on it.
