Summary
The recent release of the report of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a Washington think tank, confirms what many of us have thought for more than a year: The current U.S. administration did not tell the truth about Iraq. Iraq was not an imminent threat to U.S. security. There were no weapons of mass destruction imminently threatening the U.S. the United Nations' weapons inspections were working, and were effectively containing Iraqi weapons programs. Put simply: The war was not necessary and has been based on false claims.
