BANGOR - The state's unemployment rate, which went up 0.3 percent last month to 4.5 percent, will continue to increase in the next few months as more jobs become available but an even greater number of out-of-work people look to fill those positions.

John Dorrer, director of the state Labor Market Information Services, presented an analysis of the work force during a Friday meeting of the Maine Jobs Council.
