Language Pathologist to Give Literacy Talks

Summary


BELFAST - Jennifer Whitcomb, a speech and language pathologist at Waldo County General Hospital, will hold two presentations on how to stimulate early language and literacy skills in children.

Research indicates that if children are not well prepared for reading when they enter kindergarten, 75 percent of them will never attain reading competency. According to some research, more than 40 percent of American children read below grade level.
