Levant Driver Blames Deer in Glenburn Accident

GLENBURN - A Levant man told authorities Thursday that a deer caused him to swerve off the McCarty Road and crash into a utility pole, snapping it in two, although an investigator said alcohol may have been involved in the accident.

Michael Bell, 21, was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he received stitches for a gash on his forehead suffered when his head hit the steering wheel, Penobscot County Sheriff's Deputy Mark Lloyd said.
