GUILFORD - Lightning struck a Guilford home early Friday morning, causing extensive damage.
The lightning either struck an outside steel fence and went through the home owned by Francis Limoges and came back outside, where it heavily damaged a telephone transmission box, or it struck the transmission box and followed the telephone lines into the home, according to Guilford Fire Chief Allen Emerson.
