Summary
BANGOR - September is National Literacy Month and in keeping with the celebration, Literacy Volunteers of Bangor has earned accreditation from ProLiteracy, a global literacy organization that promotes literacy as a tool that can end poverty, injustice, discrimination and violence.
"We on the Board have always known that this is a stellar organization, but it is nice to hear it from an outside organization," Chuck Veeder, Literacy Volunteers of Bangor board chairman, said in a press release. "It's really quite an achievement since only 15 percent of ProLiteracy's approximately 900 member organizations are accredited."See the full content of this document
