Livable Wage Jobs Decline

Summary


The number of jobs paying a livable wage in Maine continues a slight but worrisome decline, according to a study released last week by the Maine Development Foundation.

Sixty-six percent of Maine jobs in 2002 paid more than $22,089, the wage needed for a family of two to fill its basic needs, according to the foundation's annual report, Measures of Growth 2004.
