WASHINGTON - U.S. Sens. Olympia J. Snowe and Susan Collins announced Thursday that five Maine housing agencies have been awarded a combined $1,425,280 in Community Development Block Grants administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The funding is being distributed to Maine through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The CDBG program provides annual grants to states and local units of government to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income people.See the full content of this document
