Once Again, Ashland Looks for New Town Manager

ASHLAND - For the second time in 21/2 years, the Town Council is looking to hire a town manager for this northern Maine community of 1,474 residents.

On April 12, the council voted 4-1 against renewing Deborah A. Carney's contract, and appointed Sharon Everett interim town manager, the same position Carney was appointed to in December 2003. Everett was town manager at Portage Lake seven years ago.
