BUCKSPORT - In a tough 2-0 loss to Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln earlier this week, the Bucksport softball team wasn't getting the offensive breaks it needed, despite having two situations with runners on second and third and no outs.

The Golden Bucks put together strings of timely hits Thursday afternoon, as five different players drove in at least one run while Sarah Sutherland put together a solid pitching performance and Bucksport posted an 11-1 Class B win over Ellsworth on a sunny, windy day at Wardwell Field.
