Playoff Streak Ended Um Loses 3 of 4 Against Vermont

The Bears, who won Sunday's opener 16-5, won't qualify for the conference tournament for the first time since 2000. Neither coach Steve Trimper nor his players wanted to acknowledge that reality.

"We put ourselves in this spot by losing a lot of these close games and it's something that we've got to learn to get over," Trimper said, pointing toward next weekend's series at Binghamton.
