Man Pleads Not Guilty to Liquor Charge in Fatality

Summary


MACHIAS - A Columbia man appeared in 4th District Court on Wednesday on charges of furnishing liquor to a minor last August, in this case Columbia teenager Krystal Higgins, who was later found drowned.

Justin Skeate, 21, pleaded not guilty in front of Judge John Romei. His case was scheduled for trial April 7. The Class D crime carries up to 364 days in jail as a penalty if Skeate is convicted.
