Summary


HOULTON - Molly Hamel raced home from third on a passed ball with two outs in the top of the 11th to score the game-winning run as the Presque Isle Wildcats edged the Houlton Shiretowners 12-11 in high school softball action Tuesday.

The Shiretowners thought they had won in the bottom of the seventh on a grand slam, but it was ruled the runner hadn't touched first base, sending the game into extra innings.

Presque Isle Nips Houlton in 11 Innings

Chelsea Glovins led Presque Isle with a double, two singles, and two RBIs; Heather Fowler had two singles, and Hamel added a triple and an RBI. Krista Coffin earned the win in relief, but starter Angela Norsworthy came back to pitch the 11th and picked up the save.

Lainey Herring topped Houlton with a double, three singles, and four RBIs, and Kristen Graham contributed a triple, a single, and an RBI.
