Summary


PRESQUE ISLE - Though city officials attributed much of the voter turnout to this fall's referendum questions, local residents also went to the polls to elect city councilors and school board members.

For open City Council seats, incumbent Ron McPherson received 838 votes to secure an unopposed four-year term. In the city's only contested race, Edwin E. Nickerson received 1,179 votes and Robert G. Poiesz received 784 votes for a one-year term on the council.
