Summary
As religion is being used with increased frequency for political expedience, in a country that prides itself in the separation of church and state, I am reminded of my mother's favorite comment. She used to say that when God wants to punish someone, all God needs to do is to take away that person's reasoning ability. Had we elected John McCain or Al Gore for our president, our nation would have been so much better off today.
