WASHINGTON - Sen. Olympia Snowe was apparently unhurt Thursday afternoon after taking a headlong fall in the hearing room of the Senate Finance Committee. Snowe, who was leaving the raised dais at the front of the packed committee room, said later that she had tripped over the outstretched legs of an unidentified staff member as she left to refill her coffee cup.
"I just went straight down," she said, seeming shaken but uninjured. She said she would not seek medical evaluation after the fall. One of her own staff members said the bright lights shining on the dais can create a glare and make it difficult to see clearly.See the full content of this document
