EASTON - A preschool trip to the pumpkin farm incensed several Easton parents and prompted the local school department to limit one parent's contact with pupils after they learned that the parent, a convicted sex offender, participated in the event.

Eric Kimball, 43, of Easton was convicted in 1999 of unlawful sexual contact and subsequently was placed on the Maine Sex Offender Registry. Along with his wife and about 10 other parents, Kimball participated this fall in a field trip to a pumpkin patch in Presque Isle.
