SKOWHEGAN - While the rest of the state is going to celebrate Maine Maple Sunday on March 25 with visits to sugar houses, downtown businesses are holding an entire week of festivities.

"It should be sweet," said Ivor Lofving, a sugar maker and organizer of Skowhegan Maple Fest. "Somerset County produces more maple syrup than any other county in the world. It is only natural that we should be celebrating that."
