In his op-ed, "Privatizing Social Security: 'Me' over 'we'" (BDN, Jan. 31), Benjamin Barber finally put into words powerful but unexpressed sentiments that had been percolating inside of me for a long time. Social Security in the American tradition has been about all of us - about community - about the common good, the commonwealth.
