Dayton Man Summoned for Allegedly Failing to Id Pawn Shop Sellers

BIDDEFORD, Maine -- A Dayton man was summoned Thursday for intentionally negating his lawful responsibility to require positive identification from individuals selling merchandise to his Biddeford pawn shop, according to police.

York County sheriff's deputies and the Biddeford Police Department joined forces in discovering that Daniel Sylvester, 23, owner of Biddeford Pawn and Loan, was not properly identifying individuals and failing to lawfully record sales of used merchandise on several occasions in order to avoid law enforcement detection, police said.
