EASTON - Local school officials aren't so worried about the short term - it's the long term that is giving them pause as they watch Maine school systems move into the Essential Programs and Services funding model.

The Easton School Department expects to receive about $37,000 more than it did last year in state education aid under the new funding model. As long as that number stands, Superintendent Frank Keenan said Thursday, the school system is going to be all right - this year.
