ORONO - Boston College's Conte Forum hasn't been kind to the University of Maine Black Bears in recent years. Maine was just 1-5- 2 in its last eight games there and 0-2-2 in its last four dating back to a 4-3 win on Dec. 6, 2002.

But freshman goalie Ben Bishop kept the Bears in the game in the first period with 14 saves and second-period power- play goals by Derek Damon and Billy Ryan gave the Bears a 2-1 victory over the youthful Eagles, who had 13 freshmen and sophomores in their lineup.
