Summary
Last week a newspaper had a story about an elementary school in Tremont that plans to install a monument to the military on its grounds. The story reminded me that last month, a group in Camden hoisted into the Village Green a massive stone to display names of those who spent time in the military.
At the time, the group needed $13,000 more to pay for the stone, prompting me to send letters to editors and to a group member saying that the military budget has $20 million to fund a celebration "for commemoration of success" in Iraq and Afghanistan, and that the unused money could pay the bill for the stone.See the full content of this document
