BELFAST - While incidents of domestic violence in Waldo County have declined in recent years, area law enforcement and elected officials say they are not about to relax their commitment to bringing an end to the tragedy of domestic assault.

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, police and other officials gathered Tuesday at the University of Maine Hutchinson Center to speak out against domestic violence. They also attended the unveiling of an exhibit called "An Empty Place at the Table."
