PRESQUE ISLE - The University of Maine at Presque Isle's Reed Art Gallery is adding 153 original Andy Warhol photographs to its permanent collection thanks to a major gift from the Andy Warhol Photographic Legacy Program.

The University of Maine Museum of Art in Bangor and the Colby College Museum of Art in Waterville also will receive some of the Warhol photographs. Warhol, who lived from 1928 to 1987, was an avant-garde American artist and a central figure in the school of pop art.
