Weston Man Sues His Hometown Lawsuit Alleges Town Withheld Public Documents Requested by Resident

WESTON - A Weston man served notice on Monday that he believes the town violated the state's Freedom of Access law when it reportedly did not produce all records of a recent decision by the town.

In a complaint filed on Aug. 16 in Penobscot County Superior Court, Stan Ginish of Weston alleges that he was denied a complete file of the town's dealings with a construction business that was hired to repair the roof at the town office. Ginish alleges that correspondence he sent to the town about the issue was not included in the file and also maintains that the town declined to produce written proof that the construction firm has insurance coverage.
