FREEPORT - The central Maine town of Winthrop has been judged to have the state's best-tasting drinking water.

The Winthrop Utilities District and the Red House Farm Village Condo Association in Newry were judged to have the best water at the Maine Rural Water Association's 24th annual drinking water tastetest, held Wednesday in Freeport.
